Description of Work
Underwater burning removal of 190LF of steel sheet pile 2’ below natural bottom. UMX performed underwater jetting to -2’ below natural bottom in order to burn and remove 190lf of sheet pile. Burning was performed with limited to zero visibility. UMX experienced lifting limitations due to the road stability and access. In order to overcome the issue, the sheet pile was cut into 3000lbs sections and floated close enough to the shore to be lifted properly by an excavator.
UMX provided the following services for this project:
- U/W excavating
- Underwater burning in zero visibility
- U/W rigging
- Strategic placement of up to 6000lbs of lift bags
- Operating heavy equipment
